“I will give them one heart, and put a new spirit within them;
I will remove the heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh,
so that they may follow my statues
and keep my ordinances and obey them.
Then they shall be my people, and I will be their God.”
Ezekiel 11:19-20 NRSV
Consider these questions for reflection when praying with this passage:
When in your life have you experienced a change of heart?
Where in your heart do you experience compassion (a heart of flesh)?
Where in your heart do you experience harshness (a heart of stone)?
The word “obey” and “obedience” means “to listen.” How do you listen to God in your daily life?
What is the new spirit within you?
