This past week has been quite an emotional roller-coaster both in the financial and economic markets. Watching the news was starting to give me a headache and indigestion, and I could feel worry and fear creep into my bones. So I started taking the news and the current financial crisis to prayer.
I have been praying with the struggle and reality of living in a culture where finances and economics are necessary. I have been praying with the question of priorities and what is essential. My prayer has drawn me to deeper questions of love and what really matters in life. I continue to pray to live in the balance, and this time of prayer helps center my being on the essential - love, my relationships, health, well-being, compassion, care and concern for others, as well as service to name a few. I continue to experience God in the center, in the balance, in the essential.
What is essential for you? What are your priorities?
May you live this day in the center of your being with God.
