A few days ago I had an incredible conversation with several women in a coffee shop. We were talking about spirituality, and each us shared a little of our journey and our desire to further deepen our spiritual growth. Each us came from different faith traditions and spiritual practices, but the search to grow in our spirituality was a common thread of unity. Our God-quest was similar because of our desire to grow in our spirituality.
What is the desire of your heart? How do you desire to deepen your spirituality?
Here are some suggestions to tend to your soul this week:
Read books or articles on ways to grow spiritually. Look for books within your own spiritual practice as well as other faith traditions.
Learn about other religions and spiritual practices throughout the world. What are the common threads? What are the differences in the God-quest? Are there any new insights and discoveries for you?
Dialogue with others in spiritual conversations or join a faith-sharing group. Share with others in a respectful way your search for spirituality and your desire to grow spiritually in your life.
Find a spiritual mentor, someone who can listen to your story and help you make connections of your spirituality with your daily life.
Again, these are only suggestions. Use what is helpful and ignore the rest.
