    Spirituality as a Breath of Fresh Air

    Last night I was talking with a woman in the library about Weekly Spiritual Reflections. (I will talk about God and spirituality anywhere). She asked about the website and I shared with her that we are an inclusive web community focusing on spiritual growth through online sermons, reflections, blogs, forums and various resources on spirituality and prayer. I shared with her that as a member of our web community, we respect and honor where people are in their spiritual journey, for everyone is different and that is OK because God is more than we can ever imagine or dream. Besides, what God has created is called good. There is goodness inside each of us. We are called to discover, re-discover and share that God-given goodness throughout our world.


    Her response to me was that this sense of community and spirituality is like a breath of fresh air. She went on to tell me of her growing up in a religion where rules were extreme and members had to fit into a certain identity box or they were considered an outcast. The sad reality in listening to part of her story is that I have heard similar stories from numerous other people who carry past wounds and hurts related to religion.


    Weekly Spiritual Reflections     offers a different way along the spiritual path. Thank you for being part of this journey. For we are about a spirit of welcome, of respect, and of intentionality in growing deeper into God.

    May you experience the presence of God and the movement of the Spirit in your life like a breath of fresh air. Breathe deeply of God this day.
