    Prediction Update

    Back in February Spirit Radio did a Special 2009 Prediction show. Well, here we are, more than half-way through 2009, and we thought we'd check in to see how the predictions are stacking up. We'll list some of the predictions here, bolding the ones that have come true so far and offering dates and such for validation. These predictions were made between September 2008 and December 2008, were mailed through the newsletter in February and announced LIVE on the radio show, and have not been manipulated! Predictions that have not come true are struck through, predictions that still may are italicized. To see how all of them did go to www.colorofthesoul.org and sign up for my mailing list!     Politics
    1. There will be several large battles between the two parties, one of them centering on drilling rights to land sanctioned by Bush and one relating to a third proposed stimiulus packages in Mid-November.
    2. A controversy will swarm around Biden, broaught about by his lack of tact. We will see this surface in early July, somewhere near the 4th or 5th.
      1. NOTE: This came true later than Tommy anticipated, but here is a link relating to the contrversy in July: http://thefastertimes.com/internationalenergy/2009/07/27/what-the-hell-was-joe-biden-thinking/
    3. Barack Obama will face several setbacks in his plans, and the American people will become dissatisfied with his capability to make good on his campaign promises. This will happen around August, but his approval rating will rise again in 2010
      1. NOTE: On July 26th Obama's approval rating reached its lowest, with most people saying in a CBS poll that they did not think he could make good on his campaign promises.

    Economy

    1. We will see the passing of the second stimulus package in early March, and it will go into effect in April.
      1. NOTE: The stimulus package passed much earlier than I forsaw, perhaps because Congress realized their mistakes.
    2. There will be a brief flare in gas prices in May, but by June they will be lower than they are now.
      1. NOTE: On May 18, 2009, gas prices rose to nearly $4.00 a gallon, and in mid-June the report had gas prices were nearing $1.50 mark on a national average.

    Foreign Affairs

    1. China will begin a harder crackdown on the people of Tibet, leading to violence in May.
      1. NOTE: A March 10th, 2009 CBS news report discussed escalating tensions between the Tibetans and the Chinese Government. There was violence during the Olympics, though not in May. Still, timing and dates are difficult to discern with Spirit and can be off a bit.
    2. We will see the weakening of the Israeli nation due to their vicious attack on Pakistan.
      1. NOTE: This prediction was made in September of 2008, and came true after Israel attacked Pakistan, as reported on january 6th.
    3. In early June Hamas in Pakistan will fall, but will be replaced by a fanatical sect that isn't any better.

    Celebrity World

    1. We are going to see the birth of several celebrity babies, and in August Angelina Jolie will announce that she's pregnant again.
    2. We will see the end of Jennifer Anniston and John Mayer.
      1. NOTE: Was announced on the CBS Early Sh on March 13th, 2009.

    Weather

    1. We will continue to see the rapid melting of the Polar Ice Caps, though many more countries, including the U.S., will make the efforts to go green, with the U.S.'s beginning in late April.
      1. NOTE: The U.S. has implemented several green initiatives since April, 2009.
    2. There will be massive storms throughout the Far East, a monsoon causing a great amount of damage in Japan.
    3. Earthquakes will strike across the U.S.
      1. NOTE: Several earthquakes were recorded on May 17, 2009, and more recently an earthquake struck the Chattanooga area near the end of July.

     

    Medicine

    1. A discovery in the field of neuroscience will lead to better and more efficient treatment of strokes.
    2. Obama's new healthcare plan will not pass Congress until late September.

      1. NOTE: In Late January early February new regulations were placed, and on February 4, 2009, CBS evening news reported the first rise on Wall Street in months.
    4. We will see a steady climb in the housing market in February that will continue into October.
      1. NOTE: This has remained true to this point, and though it is not October we are confident enough to say it has come true.
    5. The economy will upswing early on but will bottom out in May. No one should be afraid because by September the market will be strong.
      1. NOTE: January 2009 saw rise in automobile retail sales, and in May, as we know, GM and Chrysler have begun Bankruptcy claims.
    6. December 2009 will see jobs start to recover, though they won't be back on good land until 2011.

    Foreign Affairs

    4. The president of France will become embattled over political injustices and corruption and many will call for his resignation in November.
    5. Prince Harry will be pulled out of the armed forces in July
      1. NOTE: This prediction came true about a month early.
    6. Great Britain will face a terrorist attack on their underground system in December.
    7. Tensions will rice between  the U.S. and Iran in the early summer and will last into Spring of 2011.
      1. NOTE: I originally thought this came true April 29, 2009, but realized later tha it actually came about recently, following the election crisis in Iran.
    8. A cold war-like atmosphere will rise between the U.S. and Russia in March. This will escalate in November and last into February 2010.
      1. NOTE: The cold war-like atmospjere certainly came about in March--March 3, 2009 to be precise and lingers even now. At this point we have no reason to doubt the remainder will come true.
    9. Hillary Clinton's presence as Secretary of State will aggrivate several Middle Eastern Countries.

    Celebrity World

    1. We are going to see the birth of several celebrity babies, and in August Angelina Jolie will announce that she's pregnant again.
    2. We will see the end of Jennifer Anniston and John Mayer.
      1. NOTE: Was announced on the CBS Early Sh on March 13th, 2009.
    3. Britney Spears' comeback is going to have a lot of success, leading to the launch of a tour in July.
      1. NOTE: her newest CD has sold wonderfully, and she is launching a bigger tour as of July 17th, 2009.
    4. Patrick Swayze will take a dive in health at the end of March that will last well into October.
      1. NOTE: Though we have not reached October yet, he did take a dive in health reported on March 29, 2009, and very little has been seen of him in recent months. One can only speculate that he is still ill.

    Weather

    1. We will continue to see the rapid melting of the Polar Ice Caps, though many more countries, including the U.S., will make the efforts to go green, with the U.S.'s beginning in late April.
      1. NOTE: The U.S. has implemented several green initiatives since April, 2009.
    2. There will be massive storms throughout the Far East, a monsoon causing a great amount of damage in Japan.
    3. Earthquakes will strike across the U.S.
      1. NOTE: Several earthquakes were recorded on May 17, 2009, and more recently an earthquake struck the Chattanooga area near the end of July.
    4. California will see its worst earthquake in recent years in late August, around the 22nd.
    5. A drought will threaten crops in the heartland throughout July and August but will let up in September.
    6. There will be bad weather and white-outs across the East Coast in the end of February.
      1. NOTE: This prediction was made in my February newsletter with my 2009 predictions, and came true February 28, 2009, continuing into the 1st and 2nd of March.
    7. An awful hurricane will strike southern Florida in the region near the Gulf of Mexico in July, and the damage will linger into 2010.
      1. NOTE: While this prediction did not come true when predicted, I can't help but feel that it is still coming down the line.
    8. The U.S. will take measures to greatly reduce green house gases and by December a renewable resource will be tested as fuel.
      1. NOTE: In May of 2009 reports surfaced that kelp (seaweed) is being tested as a source of fuel. The U. S. recently initiated the Cash for Clunkers program to get wasteful gas-guzzlers and high producers of carbon monoxide off the road.
    9. Electric cars will flood the market in July.
      1. NOTE: While not precisely a "flood", nearly every car maker had come out with their model of electricad fuel-efficient cars.

    Medicine

    1. A discovery in the field of neuroscience will lead to better and more efficient treatment of strokes.
    2. Obama's new healthcare plan will not pass Congress until late September.
    3. A return to stem-cell research will lead to a great discovery in the treatment of conditions such as diabetes and autism.
      1. NOTE: The first step of this was made in March of 2009.
    4. A potential cure for HIV will be developed in Germany but we won't hear about it until late December/early January 2010.
    5. Advances will be made that will allow brain patterns to be used in lie detector tests and as methods of reading peoples' minds. This will be widespread in September.
      1. NOTE: This has already begun in January, according to a January CBS Evening News report.
