Are light skinned people more attractive

For years in the African American Community their has always been a debate over the distinction between light skin and dark skin, good hair and bad hair, what's hot and what's not. This segment tonight is not aimed at proving which one looks better but to discuss this issue and gather how we can look pass the difference of skin color. Why racisim between blacks and whites have occured most often, there is a deeply rooted issue of racism of light on black or vice versa. There is an old saying that goes if you black get back, if you brown stick around, if you are white you are alright. There are even organizations that before you could join, they would put a brown paper bag up to your skin and if you were darker than the bag then you could not join. It seems as time has continued on the ideology continues. Looking at many of the lead roles in films today, majority of the lead female roles are taken by fair to light skinned african americans. It seems with ease that if you look like Halle Berry or Beyonce or Mariah Carey, the roles are endless. When was the last time you have seen a beautiful dark skinned woman and I am talking about that sexy silky black skin like columbian coffee beans and satin sheets mixed. Name one actress that fits the mold. On the male side Wesley Snipes had great success. It seems like in the movie New Jack City he reinforced this sterotype when he stabbed Christopher Williams in the hand and said "Pretty Mothef@!?, I never like you light skinned no way". This movie was viewed by people all over the world and set the tone for many of the trends in the 90's. It is my belief that this condition goes all the way back to slavery where blacks were breeded like dogs to mix and match the different shades. Granted that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and everyone may have their own preference but at the end of the day we are all humans beings created by God. Regardless of what ethic group you belong to,that bond from the Creator means that we are all family. What do you think? Listen to the show tonight 9pm EST
