“Soundfactory”: Don Schmeichel’s latest film project is front and center during Spike Spillberg’s latest entertaining episode of “In the Director;s Chair”, Friday August 15, 2008. Don join’s Spike to share and teach about the Art of Producing during this installment of “In the Director’s Chair”. Don was the CFO and Managing Director of the company in New Zealand that provided all of the digital intermediary services to The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Don’s latest production: “Soundfactory”, is the true story of the world famous NYC nightclub that contributed to the American proliferation of electronic / dance music in the 1990’s and was a landmark nightclub in Manhattan’s night-life during the 1990’s and early 2000’s.
The Soundfactory screenplay, which is still in development, is an adaptation of the nightclub’s owner, Richard Grant’s personal memoirs that recounts the life and times of the club and the political persecution that hounded him during the Soundfactory’s existence.
Don has been a regular contributor to Spike Spillberg’s “In the Director’s Chair” and we welcome his contribution to our show
