SL#113: The KEY to Happiness... KEEP IT SIMPLE, STUPID!!!

Our modern civilizations “media mind manipulation machine” tends to “teach” us many things about ourselves via multimillion dollar ad campaigns and investor dollars under the premise that what we need to make our lives better are the things that they have to sell us or tell us. Overwhelmingly, we are becoming more and more susceptible to these claims as outside influence over our lives becomes greater and greater. As our bad habits with finances, energy conservation/independence and educating our children worsen, so does our overall quality of life, eventually resulting in the inevitable, catastrophic failure of our community, leaving us easy prey for any destructive force to finish us off. What do we do??? An wise and “seasoned” art instructor I had in high school used to tell me the key to success in life is a simple artist’s philosophy known as “k.i.s.s.” or “Keep it Simple Stupid!” which I didn’t quite understand at the time, but now is as clear as a bell! Contrary to popular belief, you are the ultimate controller of your happiness in the end. Don’t believe me? Let’s talk about it shall we?

Understanding what motivates and drives us to better ourselves is the key to deciphering whether or not we truly have the best interest of our people at heart. Is a Black, Conservative, Republican AUTOMATICALLY “self-hating” because he or she may criticize the methodologies and arguably destructive practices of some Black people? Is a Black drug dealer or gang banger AUTOMATICALLY “self-hating” because he or she sells drugs within the Black community or commits crimes against primarily Black people? There is obviously no definitive answer here without the knowledge of the mindset of the individual in question... however, the fact still remains that ignorance is no excuse for ANY consequentially destructive behavior focused on one group of people. Are you subconsciously a self-hater? Do your complaints about the injustices and civil mistreatment of Blacks in America amount to a resentment of your race altogether? Deep. Let’s get to the bottom of why it takes more than a political party or a gang affiliation to be a true “self-hating” individual.

SpectaLIVE #111: "BAD Economy or GOOD Life Lesson?"

Well supporters, another holiday season is upon us, rejoice! But there are many things different about this holiday season, some cause for celebration, and others... not so much. For starters, the President-Elect is Black... WOW, but besides the obvious, why does this even matter? Well, I don't know, you tell me... have you noticed any change in behaviors related to recognizing and or respecting "all things Black" all of a sudden i.e. Black James Bond, Black Pope, Black this, Black that... or does it just feel that way to some of us? And how about this economy, and I use that word very lightly, as our "economy" is more representative of a tree that sprouts dollars for failing corporations more so than any kind of true and functioning, capitalistic based economy, you feel me??? But what does this failing economy tell us??? I mean, it's not always a bad thing when an alarm goes off is it? It could be a warning of bad things to come if we don't change our fiscal behavior... at least that's how I see it!!! Let's talk about it shall we???
