SpectaLIVE #103: "Black Pride: A Culture of LOVE or RACISM?" Alright supporters... the topic is set... We've got a BLACK presidential nominee for the first time in history... seems like everywhere I turn members of the black community all of a sudden have a vested interest in politics because of this fact... as if political issues are only relevant if the candidate is a certain race, or even premised as such i.e. Bill Clinton. I'm beginning to think many folks are voting for the man simply because he is BLACK???? Naaaaaa... that COULDN'T be the case now could it??? But that would be against everything Dr. King stood for now wouldn't it??? Is a vote for Obama the litmus test for blackness... even after he has been accused by many as not being BLACK ENOUGH??? But this isn't about Barack "Barry" Hussain Obama now is it??? He could be ANY Black man couldn't he??? Are we repeatedly guilty of following RACE instead of CHARACTER and VALUE??? Where do the color lines end and logical rationale begin??? Deep.......
