Unshackled November 1st ,2007 I came into this world not knowing what to expect, an infant. I was brought up in a system, which is I believe is corrupt. By hands not of my own. I was put into an negative situation that I had no control over. How my exceedingly Great- grand father was put on trial and hung with nails, TO REDEEM MY FLESH. We have heard of “The Great Freedom Fighters” That we try to so hard to emulate. That emulation we have not come close too; yet. We start off with the best of intentions, but When the heat is turned up. FIRE A fire that enrages within us that has the good intentions of loving you for who you, and what you are. Of how I learned, it was not just about me getting home safely, but you as well. They may have held my body captive, but my mind roamed an Mother Earth with all colors as ONE. In a mind of a child, who knows of NO DISPARITY OF ANY KIND. Who knew I would be lead to think a civilization could be so cruel. How did you find out about me? I found out through the sources of higher learning. A classroom that has no boundaries’, but some past regrets. I entered this fight for the improvement of my people. So when I found the proper outlet; I drew close and near to you ‘cause I know the only way of Fighting is through the college of LIFE. Life has a college all it’s own. My source of higher learning is to be UNSHACKLED!!!!!! By: J. LYNCH

SUPREME ENTERTAINMENT BLOG TALK RADIO PRESENTS: THE TOP 10 GREATEST HIP-HOP ALBUMS EVER! It's always potential presidential poetry Let me tell you why presidential candidates don’t come down to the hood too often Their political success always seems to depend on who’s doing all the hearing and Who’s doing all the talking. But in my hood, at my home, guess who just happen to walk in it? A presidential vote predator that had scented potential prey and commenced to start stalking it. Hello there, I’m candidate X- (as if I might mistake his ass for EF Hutton.) And I’d like your vote- (then he tried handing me a frikin button.) Opportunity knocks on project blocks way too rarely. And here was a possible presidential pick or a presidential prick Right here? Near me? Where he could hear me? (Hold’ up a minute Mr. X). I said. (Can I call you The Man? I can? Ok. Go ahead.) Go ahead and what? He asked. It sounded as if you hadn’t yet finished. (Go ahead and sit your ass down Mr Man,) I replied. (Your gonna be here a few more minutes.) Tribal, I want you to call Nyla, Micheal TAALAM and Black Ice, Gill Scott, and Flow Mentals. Get Lauryn Hill to find Smokey Robinson's behind on the line. And to tell him that I’m all the ones who sent you. Call Sara Jones, Taylor Mali, Saul Williams and even Maya Angelo too. And try to get Alex Olsen, Leonard Cohen, Sun Of Man. Ask if Nas and Rakim can roll through. Bring Jessica Care Moore and holla @ Nikki Giovanni next. Don’t worry X. We just want to be heard. Relax a little. Take your coat off, let the load off and chill. Have you ever heard any spoken word? If you haven’t, Don’t worry. You will. Tribal hit the phones and told them to bring poems to present to the man who would be our king. Rakim said he’d stop and drop stuff and he’d even do some of Pac’s stuff. And all Saul wanted to know was if he could sing. Candiate X looked resigned to his fate and decided to wait patiently as the poets strolled into the door. In came Mos Def, Queen Sheba, Epiphany and even The last Poets were out on the floor. Not since the day Nebuchadnezzar met Daniel. Had such potential influential repercussions been in store. (You must understand Mr X), to him I said. (All we have is our words and what the years have bred. Only what the years have bled, From the tears that shed through the urged words we try so hard to convey. So before you seek to speak for us hear US speak for ourselves for once. For it may be we actually have something to say.) The candidate nodded numbly And we all bowed humbly as DM-X led us in prayer. My Brother Breeze brought forth “The Word” and blew it away in a puff. Then it was all history being made from right there. Smokey told him what it felt like to be black Maya rose up and The Last Poets brought her phenomenal ass right back. Taylor Mali told him what teachers really make And Gill Scott-Heron let him know the revolution on tape would be a fraudulent fake. And no where even near like the one we were really planning to make. Lauryn & Kanye taught him how it all… it all falls down and why. And some one I never even knew who just happen to have come strollin through to do a poem or two made every one of us break down and cry. Sara Jones told Candidate X the same thing she told Billy Clinton “Gill let you know where to find the revolution And I’m telling your ass where it isn’t.” The revolution will not be found between these thighs. Nas only had one mic but did 'There’ll never be peace' for Pac. Then, when one of our teens, did “I Have A Dream” everything in that room just stopped. …. Flow Mentals broke the high and brought everybody drama. And Rakim openly cried when he did Tupac’s “Dear Mama” Nikki did a poem for Langston and as Candidate X was listening Alex Olsen sold him some stock in overstocked moral convictions. Prince made predictions like he was at a 1999 party back in 88 and Ossie Davis, did X's and King's eulogies again so we would remember why those 2 men were so great. It’s not too late at all, I said. Then showed him where hope lies. We all took a moment to breathe and let some of that hope rise. Till all that was left was a couple of ghost writing soft, sad poet sighs. X’s eyes misted as he finished his visit and said he didn’t know what to say. He had no Idea, no inkling, and no clue couldn’t even imagine it before this very day. (Candidate X) Let me see if I understand. There’s a little that have and they aren’t giving up that prize. Then there’s a lot who don’t But the little don’t live those lost lots lives. Hope, love, faith and happiness come in short supplies and for us to rise we only need open our eyes. Remember where we came from and keep our focus on where we’re going. And don’t miss what’s here right now because the blood is always still flowing. Enjoy joy while you have it and let justice be as an arrow striking true. But first give God his due for although his eye is on the sparrow His hand is always upon you? (Yes,) I said, as I shook his hand with hope that still felt empty. Like the kind of hope King had for Kennedy. Like the hope of mercy for the defenseless when finally meeting with the enemy. And what he then said to me rang like a bell whose crack made it see its last act. Quote-unquote I’d still like your vote. I’ll give it my best, we can all only hope And don’t worry, I’ll be black. Er…uh I mean I'll be back. As if he-she ever could be or would be.
