Join us for this inaugural 5-minute broadcast of Spartan Life Radio designed exclusively for Norfolk State University's WNSB Hot 91.1 FM radio station. Today, we're interviewing Dr. April Manalang, professor in the department of history and interdisciplinary studies, about her research on the buffalo soldiers and their connection to the people of the Philippines. Funded by the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and through Dr. Manalang's research and community connections a special event has been created titled "Hidden Virginia History: The Connection Between Buffalo Soldiers and the Philippines. The photo gallery and public panel is scheduled for Thursday, February 25 at 6 p.m., and will take place in the Harrison B. Wilson Archives in the Lyman Beecher Brooks Library.
