    MEET OUR SPECIAL GUESTS:

Joe Zarki - Joshua Tree National Park - Located in Southern California’s High Desert region, Joshua Tree National Park features 800,000 acres of desert, where the Colorado River Desert and Mohave Desert meet. Visitors to the park can experience ancient Joshua Trees, magnificent sunrises and sunsets, palm oases, phenomenal rock formations, desert big horn sheep, rock climbing, hiking, and more. Joe Zarki, Chief Information Officer for Joshua Tree National Park will join us to talk about the park’s history, natural habitats and wildlife, nature programs and ranger programs, recreational opportunities, and what visitors should pack and be prepared for when planning a trip to this beautiful park.

Leslie Roe - Pioneer Museum, Flagstaff, AZ - Housed in the former Coconino County Hospital for the Indigent (often called the ‘Poor Farm’ by the locals), this Arizona State Museum collects, preserves, and exhibits over 10,000 artifacts, documents, and photographs of the history of Flagstaff and Northern Arizona, and presents changing exhibits illustrating themes in Flagstaff’s history. Leslie Roe, the Director of the Pioneer Museum will join us to talk about Flagstaff’s fascinating history, and about the museum’s exhibits that feature farm machinery, livestock working gear, medical equipment, household items, toys and dolls, vehicles, costumes, pioneer memorabilia, plus a 1929 Baldwin articulated locomotive and a Santa Fe caboose.

    R. Michael Wilson – Author of ‘Outlaw Tales of Wyoming - ‘Outlaw Tales of Wyoming’, the new book by Robert Michael Wilson, features the True Stories of the Cowboy State’s Most Infamous Crooks, Culprits, and Cutthroats. Through fourteen astonishing true stories, Outlaw Tales of Wyoming introduces you to a state you thought you knew – and a West wilder than you’ve ever imagined. R. Michael Wilson has been researching the Old West for fifteen years, following a quarter century as a law enforcement officer. An active member of the National Outlaw Lawman Association and Western Writers of America, he served as a consultant for an episode of The History Channel’s Wild West Tech.
