Slaughter is a subject matter expert on human trafficking (sex, labor and organ), violence against women, teen dating and workplace violence, domestic and sexual violence, bullying, crimes against children,community and youth violence, gun violence, mass incarceration of juveniles, prison reform, hate and bias crimes, police engagement and human and civil rights violations. She has designed and developed the law enforcement and victim advocate training material on human trafficking which was being used in at least eight states in the southeast.
