Ken Peplowski: Hailed by the New York Times as 'Goodman Straight Up, with a Twist of Lightning'

At 3pm EST, virtuosic jazz clarinet player Ken Peplowski will be joining us to talk about his extensive experience playing the clarinet and tenor saxophone. The late Mel Torme´said, "Since the advent of Benny Goodman, there have been too few clarinetists to fill the void that Goodman left. Ken Peplowski is most certainly one of those few. The man is magic." The New York Times pronounced a concert of Ken's "Goodman Straight Up, with a Twist of Lightning." These quotes only hint at Ken Peplowski's virtuosity - not only is he an outstanding clarinetist and saxophone player, but he's also a charismatic entertainer who has been delighting audiences for over 30 years with his warmth, wit and musicianship. Ken has recorded various albums, including ‘Happy Together,’ which is available in Europe, as well as ‘When You Wish Upon a Star,’ two special records which include 11 songs played on the clarinet and the tenor saxophone.

Learn about his meeting with Islamic extremists from the Jenin Refugee Camp, a cradle of suicide bombers, as well as his vision for how Israeli and Palestinian divisions can be mended with the help of the United States. Frank Romano actively organizes and participates in interfaith events involving Jews, Muslims and Christians in Israel and Palestine. Yom Kippur, also referred as the Day of Atonement, is the most solemn and important of the Jewish holidays. Starting with Rosh Hashanah on September 19, and ending with Yom Kippur, these ten days of repentance allow believers to ask forgiveness and seek to become righteous before God writes in His book an inscription of each person’s fate for the coming year.
