    Frank Romano: Making Peace in the Middle East

    At 3pm EST on the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur, join us as Frank Romano, the coauthor of ‘Storm over Morocco’ delves into his recent quest for spiritual peace between religions in the Middle East, including Judaism and Islam. Learn about his meeting with Islamic extremists from the Jenin Refugee Camp, a cradle of suicide bombers, as well as his vision for how Israeli and Palestinian divisions can be mended with the help of the United States. Frank Romano actively organizes and participates in interfaith events involving Jews, Muslims and Christians in Israel and Palestine. He is also an active member of a multi-faith group in Paris dedicated to peace in the Middle East. Yom Kippur, also referred as the Day of Atonement, is the most solemn and important of the Jewish holidays. Starting with Rosh Hashanah on September 19, and ending with Yom Kippur, these ten days of repentance allow believers to ask forgiveness and seek to become righteous before God writes in His book an inscription of each person’s fate for the coming year.

    Mike Marshall: World-Renowned Master of the Mandolin

    At 3pm EST, we’ll be joined by Mike Marshall, one of the world’s most accomplished and versatile acoustic musicians. Mike is a master of mandolin, guitar and violin, and his playing is as imaginative and adventurous as it is technically thrilling. Mike has been at the forefront of the acoustic music scene, playing on hundreds of acoustic-music recordings both as lead artist and ensemble performer. He is currently working on further collaborations with German mandolinist Caterina Lichtenberg as well as his own music camp for mandolinists, the Mandolin Symposium, that takes place every June at U.C. Santa Cruz with over 150 mandolinists and ten of the greatest players/teachers in the world.

    Alison Sawyer Current: Putting a Stop to the Horrendous Treatment of Animals Worldwide

    At 3pm EST, author and animal-rights activist Alison Sawyer Current tells us about her astonishing experiences rescuing animals from brutal treatment in Mexico.
