Nadeem Aslam New York Times Bestselling Author

Joining the show at 3pm will be Joel Magnuson, a professor of economics and author of 'Mindful Economics'. The troubles we face are not the result of a good system gone awry, but rather a system that is built to do exactly what it is doing: corporations are designed to reap profits for shareholders—at any cost. The greater welfare of society, or of the environment, will never be as important as financial gain. Magnuson shows us the relationship between the current wars abroad; rising oil prices; the recession; ballooning incomes of top CEOs; the mortgage crisis; and the health care, insurance, and auto industries, and he teaches us that the best way to understand the US economy is to think like an economist. On the show next at 3:15 will be Norma J. Watts, author of 'The Art of Baby Nameology'. She will share with us how a name can shape your baby' s future and can explain personality traits. On next at 3:30 will be award winning Nadeem Aslam, author of 'The Wasted Vigil' n mesmerizing prose, Nadeem Aslam reveals the complex ties—of love and desperation, pain and salvation, madness and clarity—that bind the characters. And through their stories he creates a timely and achingly intimate portrait of the “continuation of wars” that shapes our world. Our musical guest at 3:45 will be Moneyland. Modern day bluegrass patriarch Del McCoury offers timely multi-artist collection that features a hard-hitting look at economic injustice through songs old and new.

Katherine Neville's groundbreaking novel, The Eight, dazzled audiences more than twenty years ago and set the literary stage for the epic thriller. A quest for a mystical chess service that once belonged to Charlemagne, it spans two centuries and three continents, and intertwines historic and modern plots, archaeological treasure hunts, esoteric riddles, and puzzles encrypted with clues from the ancient past. Now the electrifying global adventure continues, in Neville's long anticipated sequel: THE FIRE. We also feature a book called "Steel Drivin' Man" which has won multiple awards for author Scott Reynolds Nelson, and chronicles the larger than life tale of John Henry. The third guest on the show is the author of a book called Boycott, about the 1980 Olympics! It is still an Olympic year, after all! And, our featured musician on the show today is Ken Peplowski, a virtuosic jazz clarinetist you have to hear to believe...
