Alison Sawyer Current: Putting a Stop to the Horrendous Treatment of Animals Worldwide

At 3pm EST, author and animal-rights activist Alison Sawyer Current tells us about her astonishing experiences rescuing animals from brutal treatment in Mexico. Alison is the winner of the Doris Day Humanitarian award, and the founder of Isla Animals, an unofficial humane society on a small island off of the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. She’ll also discuss her recent book, ‘No Urn for the Ashes,’ a powerful suspense novel about families, loss and, ultimately, reconstruction. Alison divides her time between the United States and Mexico. For the past several years, she and her dedicated volunteers have worked to save neglected and mistreated animals in the Yucatan, U.S. and Canada.
