For eons it has been perceived by the western world that to have emotions you are devoid of rational thinking, you could even considered a threat!
That’s why it’s so hard for many of us to properly express our emotions. We either keep our emotions bottled up, or we let it explode out of us, in usually unhealthy and unexpected ways.
In the Western world showing our emotions are a sign of weakness, and this is the reason people usually keep their feelings to themselves and pretend that everything is just peachy cream. It’s just too shamefull to be seen as weak.
However, emotions play a huge role in how we understand the world and communicate to others.
It is therefore very important that we learn how to connect more with our emotional self.
