In The Studio: Filmmaker Cyrille Phipps

Cyrille Phipps, has been a media educator and video documentary maker for almost twenty years. She received a B.F.A. in Film Drama from Syracuse University and M.A. in Media Studies from The New School University. Soon after graduating from Syracuse, she joined Rise & Shine Productions. As a video instructor, she taught in over twenty public junior and senior high schools in the New York City area. In addition to her teaching, she worked on many commercial ventures, starting as a production assistant for the 87/88 season of the The Cosby Show to working on nearly a hundred music videos for Classic Concepts Productions As the Video Producer for Volume.com, she was responsible for developing a comprehensive vision for video usage throughout the entire site. Before joining Volume.com, she was a Coordinator/Instructor for the Education and Outreach department at Manhattan Neighborhood Network, the largest public access facility in the country. She also spent a year as an Adjunct Professor in the Media and Communication Arts department at City College. In 2003, she returned to Manhattan Neighborhood Network to serve as the Director of Production Services. After serving as the Acting Executive Director in late 2005, she was promoted to Managing Director of Access Services. Currently, she is the Senior Editor of Post Production at TV Land Online, where she oversees all post-production for web-broadcast.
