Fear is a great motivator. Fear shuts of our reasoning power, and substitutes raw emotion. This emotion without a doubt leads us toward believing a lie as if it is the truth. Love an do exactly the same thing if that love has nothing with which to temper it. Rick has been talking about and studying Judgement and how it affects us with respect to our salvation. If we are in fear of the judgement, or if we believe 'love casts out all fear' (as Paul states), we are in jeopardy of misunderstanding what judgement is, who does the judging, and what is the ultimate goal of a judgement.
