Beautiful photo of the house! Where was it taken? After we spent money on the business cards for show, now a cost to broadcast? Take care.

Sharing Wisdom::Impatience can easily lead to unhappiness because the focus is on what we do not have. Instead, let’s appreciate what we do have, continue to work for what we want, and believe that we will eventually get what we desire or possibly something even better. That’s practicing patience.

    Sophia Features Creole Jazz Music

Ok another chance to play music for the holidays. I have fallen DEEPLY in love with old Dixieland, and old New Orleans Jazz music in the past year. Musicians most folks are not aware of...Sure we have heard of Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington ..but I am going to play music from Armstrong's mentor and one of the BIGGEST influences in jazz, Joe "King" Oliver. His Creole Jazz band is very old stuff but fantastic! This show will be a little history of the music and musicians on this CD. As most folks reflect on their year, I am choosing to learn more about the music I have been exposed to in the last year. But don't worry, show will be MOSTLY MUSIC. Only 30 minutes, no more than 5 minutes of talking. Tell your Jazz friends or young musicians to listen. **Ok, you tube link will not work here again...cut and paste and listen** great slide show of folks playing on this song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2QEBshAQ68

Sophia Gets Jazzy New Orleans Old Style

I know it's Christmas Eve, but in the mood for old Jazz as I wait for a small gathering of family tomorrow. Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, enjoy the holidays or deal with loss of loved ones from days gone by at this time, here is some great New Orleans Jazz to keep you company. George Lewis and his Ragtime Band, and a taste of Joe King Oliver's Creole Band from a 1923 recording.

    All Music Show

***Please note: My show from the 15th accidentally got deleted by me******Might open the 22nd show with one Christmas song but the rest will be Festive CLASSICAL music...Chopin, Smetana's Moldau, Light Calvary overture and some others. If you want a break from Christmas songs, this is it.

Cincinnati CEA Award nominee in World Music and some audio recorded in club by a fan. Myspace music player having issues on many sites, so posting here. Sorry for the regional connection. I have this posted on a blog for the locals.

  • Original Air Date:

Monday Night, dumb stuff and a Jazzy Christmas tune or two

More dumb stuff in the news, stupid Christmas presents, some Vince Guaraldi tunes from Charlie Brown Christmas CD. Jazzy, happy Christmas songs...not sad, sentimental stuff.

  • Original Air Date:

Mondays, time for minutia...and other stuff

Remember when toys meant USING your imagination? Check out this site for classic toys and a blast from the past. http://www.backtobasicstoys.com/ Remember toys that did not live up to commercials and those that did? The slinky? Or Easy Bake Oven? Slinky never went down the basement steps, but had a catchy jingle. The Easy Bake oven did bake but the cakes were disgusting! I remember either the cakes made me sick or as a kid, or I ate until they made me sick. Offbeat news, worm surgery, and other minutia, I promise! And some tunes. New time 10pm. Just thirty minutes so not a major time commitment. If it’s Monday, there’s always time for minutia. Give me a call.
