PMA, the Photographic Marketing Association’s annual digital imaging trade show, is just around the corner. Shutterbugs everywhere are on the lookout for the latest camera news. Sony has started the New Year strong in the U.S., with No. 1 point-and-shoot unit market share for digital still cameras. And we expect the momentum to continue as we roll out new models and accessories.
Today, we announced eight new cameras in our point-and-shoot Cyber-shot line. The focus is on "smart" camera functions. Our new models can differentiate between the faces of adults and children. It’s pretty amazing! So now when you use our face detection technology or the “smile shutter” feature, you can choose the subjects that matter most to you. Our cameras also have new features like intelligent scene recognition, dynamic range optimization, HD photo viewing and more.
Keep a look out for more exciting news from Sony as we get closer to PMA, which opens in Las Vegas (yes, another trade show in Las Vegas) next week. Press releases will be up on our news and information site at www.sony.com/news; and this blogger will be posting comments and videos.
