Tonight we'll take a break from the doom and gloom of the Gulf (well, maybe not the whole show) and direct our attention to the fate of the local NY baseball teams. As a sports talk lifer, I'm not even phased when I can click from the cable news world of constant sorrow and hear people rant and rave with the same passion about the Mets need for a starting pitcher or A-Rod's groin pull. With the World Cup's incredible popularity outside the U.S., I figured we'd take a closer look at the 4G universe with our BTR buddy, and namesake of NY Baseball Digest, Mike Silva. Since launching his show and site in 2007, the landscape of the internet and mainstream media have been overhauled. We'll get into the unseen media politics, the emergence of ESPN-NY and it's blogpoaching offers, and the impending demise of WFAN as the 'prime real estate of NY sports'. We'll also have time to 'somacast' a little Mets-Indians/Phillies-Yanks and preview the upcoming Subway Series this weekend. Mike also has some news for you Strat-O-Matic fans of the locals. All that, maybe some Lakers-Celts riffs, and we'll see if our WED mojo continues as we scour the sports universe again. We've had the Imperfecto and the Stanley Cup the last two weeks so maybe we'll get lucky again. Finally, some advice to make your Father's Day sports-filled. All on the show we're the wind is always blowing out! For all your Summer Health 2.0 info, just drag a bunt over to SOMASPACE.ORG where the whorl is yours...
