With the incredible tragedy in Haiti still unfolding, we are all getting a life lesson in how interconnected we are as a species. Beyond the politics, economics and all the crap that divides cultures, all it takes is some raw reality like that to wipe those facades away. Yet, in this society, the games never stop. President Obama is an EXO and he's losing his cool. We've seen his 'other sides' surface in the wake of the Christmas Bomber intelligence snafu's. Now he's dealing with the old racial issues of the campaign with the unearthing of Harry Reid's comments. We're close to the one year mark of his first term. I'm damn grumpy this week so I made an executive indecision to inflict some of my somatic lingo on your virgin ears. The issue of PROFILING has surfaced again as airports are back in the headlines. So let's clear the damn air about what profiling really is and how we can add some coherence to it. I'll walk you through the first of what I plan (for now) to be a month-long trip through the 4 Domains of the Somatic Terrain. The first stop is the empathic land of the ECOsapien. We'll examine the nature of emotional intelligence and how we can develop more of it in 2010. I'll ping the SAPEVINE for some other voices to chime in.
