The mission of So' Feet on the Move is to build a respected Teachback Platform, creating high-quality, tear-jerking, enlightening dialogue for worldwide broadcast and long-term educational campaigns that increase understanding and dialogue among the world’s spiritual and cultural traditions. Our vision is to be a catalyst for shedding light to the lack of understanding about Domestic Dysfunction within and outside of the Islamic communities and as a Part of that vision is a future where Islam and Muslims will be better understood in a wider, more contemporary social context and therefore will be accepted as part of the modern social fabric.

Lady in the Shoe Productions presents “My So' Feet...'Are on the Move'”
“Domestic Dysfunction is defined as, abnormal or impaired function of, from, or within ones’ own environment.”- Kalima Abdul-Quddus/Lewis
“Not only can Domestic Dysfunction incorporate under its description the obvious Domestic Violence issues, but positions itself far more than in an individual family or household affair. Some indicators which describe whether a person is a victim of domestic violence could be the use of Emotional Abuse; i.e. name calling, Misuse of Privilege; i.e. being the one to define and enforce rules, the use of Threats; Intimidation; Children, or Isolation from family or friends. But for Domestic Dysfunction the indicators are not as easily exposed. Some indicators may be well hidden but are nevertheless categorized as a Domestic Dysfunction. Examples of these may be outside of the confines of ones’ physical home address and could very well be the use of abuse and threats from employer to employee, members within the religious community, medical facilities to patients, educational facilities to students, and in other words are basically persons in positions of control or leadership often create low self esteem in those without the knowledge and information to provide such services to him/herself and are often made to feel inferior to some extent. Throughout our lives we have grown accustom to seeking services from those in positions to treat us when we are sick, educate us on topics in which we desire the knowledge and information and help us to understand what we would like to know about worshipping a higher power. But many times those in positions to provide the supports can tend to abuse the privilege by giving impressions of superiority and in turn has given inferiority complexes to many. The intimidation has helped many to subliminally learn low self esteem, an issue that most of us do not realize we have.”
Kalima Abdul-Quddus/Lewis was raised in Westbury, Long Island, New York and is the Owner of Lady in the Shoe Productions in New York City. On March 14th through the 16th, Kalima Abdul-Quddus/Lewis launches her “My So' Feet...'Are on the Move'” 50-City Book Tour. The tour will launch from The Tucson Festival of Books in Tucson, Arizona and will travel to major cities across America. “The communities we serve are a very specific community of low income families, and each year, several have approached us for support and consultation with varying needs. Our contribution is that we plan to move through 50 major cities within the United States and establish platforms by which to allow people to vent concerns and ask for what is truly needed so that we are then able to establish foundations that supply what people truly need based on the voice of the individual.”
