You know what it is but do you know how to use it effectively to market your product and increase ROI? Social Media is your new best friend in today's climate of global economic downturn given the pressure we are all feeling of trying to "do more with less". Join Akanksha Goel, COO, Sherazade Group who will be discussing social media marketing in the Middle East. Looking at where we are? where we have come from? and what is in store for the future? Listen in to hear her top 5 social media marketing take-aways and top 5 tips for becoming an engaging blogger plus learn which social media marketing platforms are most effective in the region food for thought with a discussion around ‘trust agents’…are they just mumbo-jumbo marketing talk or is this what social marketers should be aspiring too. Akanksha is a marketing maverick, start-up junkie and a social media enthusiast. Before moving to Dubai, she served as Editor-in-Chief of STUFF Magazine Singapore, a leading consumer technology publication. Under her leadership STUFF magazine pioneered in introducing a locally produced Lifestyle section which helped boost readership and sales. She has consulted on special projects with the TATA Group , where she conducted a group-wide gender-balance study across senior management and is a graduate of Singapore Management University. Akanksha frequently speaks about social media and marketing at Murdoch University, helped organize South East Asia's first podcamp, and was co-creator of the Digital Media Across Asia wiki. In her free time, she organises Tweet-ups and other networking events for entrepreneurs and conversation-starters in Dubai. Akanksha's thoughts about social media and marketing have been featured in Knowledge@SMU as well as the Six Pixels of Separation Podcast and Web News-sites like AsiaOne, Zawya and Finding Dulcinea.
