Today, Chris discusses how we ought, and ought not, to be praying. As in everything else, our prayer life should be something that glorifies the Lord, not ourselves. As Christians, we recognize that prayer gives us direct access to the throne of God. Through Christ's death and resurrection, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirt, we can boldly come to the throne of grace and make our petitions known to God. Yet, it seems prayer is something often neglected in the life of a Christian. We either fail to pray as often as we ought to, or we pray in such a manner that we expect God to just fix the tough circumstances of our life. While we can pray boldly, we should be praying humbly. It is not just circumstances that we should desire to change, but our very heart and attitudes toward those circumstances as well.
