    can't be fooled again
    can't trust like i used to
    and it's all because of you

    you took all the good god gave me
    replaced it with anxiety and depression
    my heart is now in a recession

    i have met someone else but
    what you left for him to deal with is not the real me
    i am a shadow of what god wanted me to be

    everyday has been a struggle for me
    trying to love him while learning to once again love me
    i keep thinking one day he too will leave me

    you sold me a dream and i bought your lie
    he inspires me to make my dreams a reality
    unlike you, he doesn't hurt me or make me cry

    i have gone long enough feeling unwanted and unloved
    i made a list of things i'd love to have in a man
    sent it to god and he sent this angel back to me

    i will not be fooled again
    and i was a fool to trust you
    god sent me an angel and he is nothing like you

    of all the things you know
    do you know I miss you
    you used to play with my hair when it was thick and healthy
    when ever we did kiss it was like a reward for me
    and the hugs you refered to as "gay" were treasured each day
    of all the things you claim to know
    do you know these things
    do you know I opened up in ways I never could with anyone else
    i dug deep into my childhood for you to figure out why I doubted myself so much
    why I couldn't believe you thought I was a beautiful person
    do you know these things

    you must not know these things because you're not here anymore
    left without a reason, without a feeling
    but why
    why did you leave our comfort zone to dwell in a distant place
    you say your mind is gone and you're tired of trying
    i never gave up on you
    right now you're too blind to see that
    you must not know that I would give my life for our seed
    you must not care that if ever you needed me
    i'll always try to be there
    of all the things you know
    do you know i love you
    i'm in love with you
    do you know this
    maybe you do
    maybe you really don't care

    an endless flowing river
    filled with honesty and loyalty
    innocence that is rare these days
    and in so many ways just so damn refreshing
    it hurts to be me knowing all they do is use me
    my body is a playground and boy do they play
    lie to me just to lay with me
    empty promises to my heart to always stay with me
    my mind stays twisted with thoughts of endless pleasure
    just thoughts because my reality is so unreal
    i live for love and dream of being loved
    where are you my love
    all i find in these men are lies
    can't sleep with my pillow anymore because it's soaked
    by the tears from my eyes

    my love is an ocean these men can't swim
    so they say enough to take a dive
    and they realize they can't keep the lie going
    but my love keeps on flowing
    hoping they would see I'm willing to wait it out
    give them the benefit of the doubt
    but still they just tap out
    and here I am alone again
    without a man
    feeling like i lost my best friend
    learning to live
    learning to forgive
    growing into the woman God intended me to be
    while thanking Him repeatedly for loving me

    it doesn't hurt
    it will always make me laugh out loud
    make me forever proud to be in it's presence
    the pure essence of life is that which i speak of
    love

    it's not just a word or a lie spoken without remorse
    it's definitely deeper than having random intercourse
    it's not longing to get married one day and the next
    rushing to file for divorce
    it's love

    now i've told you some of what it is not
    please allow me to share with you what it is
    it's putting others first before yourself
    it's long walks and even longer talks when
    they need you more than you need your sleep
    it's loving her children as your own
    because if you love her, you don't want her doing it all alone
    it's something you should take your time with
    you don't want to give it to the wrong person
    so my advice would be to wait
    it will come when the moment is right
    not in one random passionate night
    so just wait i say
    just wait
