The focus of this discussion is on the dating and sexual abuse of our youth and the lives they live which is causing social, societal and psychological impacts on them today with long-term effects for tomorrow. Some of our youth are unable to function academically and socially as the intimacy, sexuality and fear of their abusive partners causes depression, anxiety and mental health issues. Some same sex relationships are very jealous, verbally abusive and sometimes more physical because of a deeper trust relationship between the two.

Some cases involve sexting and sextortion that has our youth performing sexual acts that they didn’t/don't want to do but because of the info or pics they feel trapped in doing them. Many times parents are so focused on their own battles that they fail to see that their children are involved in abusive relationships until/unless they see scars they think all is well.

Some cases develop into the child being an abuser because of what they experience and see in the media, so the cycle repeats through the generations until someone breaks it. We must do more to bring educational and awareness resources to adults and parents so they can know how to recognize and support their children so as not to let them become victims of a bad and abusive relationships.

Join us as we discuss these issues and bring more attention to the realities of the sufferings of our youth from their relationships.
