Here's a uplifting blast from the past, back in 1992 & 1998, from yours truly, the Singing Bible Scribe, when I was an Assistant Pastor at our Home Church in Harrogate/Arthur, TN. I did two related Sermons on encouraging the Church Members to "Use Their Talents and God-given Gifts", as much as, we are able to do so. Many Christians have abilities and skills that they can share with their local assembly, but all to often, they dont use those "talents & gifts". They keep it to themselves, or as the Bible says, they hide in the ground like a buried treasure, or they wrap in a cloth upon a shelf, or hide it under a bushel basket, preventing their "light from being shown". Every person who goes to church should feel free to share their God-given Gifts, Talents, and Skills, and not be hindered by a One Man Show that does everything and shares nothing! In my lifetime I have encountered such ministries ruled like a Dictatorship that does not allow or encourage others to use their God-given Gifts & Talents in the Church Services. Some of the most blessed services I have ever been a part of, were in small, country churches where the Holy Spirit had His Way with Liberty and Everyone felt free to join in those services! We live in the Land of Liberty and Freedom! There is no greater place to experience this great Liberty and Freedom, than in the Church of Jesus Christ! Here's hoping that all of you have this at your place of worship! If not, here's hoping that it will be restored there, real soon... So friends, be encouraged by this sermon series to "use your Talent and God-given Gifts", as often as, you are willing & able...
