They are licensed where required and follow the legal laws and rules within their “AO” (area of operation). There are also several quality websites that tend to provide factual information on Bail Bonds and Bounty Hunting. Google should provide these names as I would leave the research to the individual to determine which sites he/she finds informative. While there are many states that require licensing for both these professions, there are still many that have little or no regulations pertaining to Fugitive Recover… ie: “Bounty Hunter” and this unfortunately leads to a very large number of situations that lend a bad name to the industry overall. There are many very qualified members of this profession that strive to do their job in a completely legal and professional manner. Having been involved in this business for over 10 years... I would only say to anyone attempting to gain information on the Recovery and Bail Bonding business to be extremely vigilant and try to verify and clarify your facts. This industry, in general, is filled with a large number of “wanna-be’s” that seem to believe the TV representation of Bail Bonds and Fugitive Recovery, which in reality is rather far from the actual activities of the true professional.
