Pre Mastering Session Preparation Formats For Delivery: Masters should be delivered as: AIFF, WAV, or SDII files 24 OR 16 Bit 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 96kHz, or 192kHz Analog Tape: 1/4" or 1/2" Medium Of Masters: CD or DVD disc would be the ideal delivery medium and duplicate copies as back up is suggested. We do acccept hard drives compatible with Mac systems. However, programs need to be in an organized folder of its own in the proper order of the project. Proper names and spelling should already be set up within the tracks. *If masters are not delivered as requested, additional charges may apply PreMaster Audio Files: The Stereo Audio files should be exported or bounced with no: Compression/ Limiters/ Normalizers/ EQ/ Maximizers on the Master Buss Reference copies delivered from the engineer to you for listening purposes can have these processors to monitor with but pre master files delivered to a mastering facility should NOT have these on the master buss. Also, a little headroom should be available with no clips or overs. *If files are not delivered as requested, we can NOT ensure optimum results Compressing and Limiting the stereo buss can cause masters to behave extra sensitive, sound saturated and distorted. Proper steps have to be taken in the mastering process IE: the stereo panning and balance needs to be corrected before any compression can take place. If a file has been compressed or limited, we can not adjust the Left and Right balancing afterwards. Vinyl Mastering Preperation: For files to be cut onto lacquer master discs, the following information should be included: Side A program order and specify 33rpm or 45rpm Side B program order and specify 33rpm or 45rpm Maxtrix number to be enscribed on discs Plating company that masters will be sent to: address,contact, shipping info Vinyl Art templates can be aquired on our website www.thresholdsound.com under mastering services
