• Directed a national program in South Africa over 5 years during the apartheid era that focused on building reconciliation, conducting peacebuilding initiatives
• Directed a wide range of international education programs over 5 years at the World Affairs Council
• Co-founded the Institute for Peacebuilding
• Conducted advocacy in Washington DC to reduce gender-based violence, including lobbying for passage of the Violence Against Women Act, the Women, Peace and Security Act, among others
