The Silicon Swami

United States, EnglishHistory

The Silicon Swami's show feature lectures and talks given at Colleges and Universities as a guest lecturer. The series focus is that part of computing history that is NOT typically taught in schools. Starting with industrial automation - Jacquard's punchcard programmable loom - the series weaves a tapestry of seemingly unrelated events and people you have never heard of. The style is very similar to Paul Harvey's "The Rest of the Story" in that names are not used until the shows' closing. The end is usually a surprise and leaves the listener both satisfied and curious for more information.
