Well, we had the opening volley and now it is time to get down to the nitty gritty. On tonight’s show we talk with Andrea from thesoaprevolution.com, our Leadership Council at Sudz.tv and any other soap group leader who wants to join in for a coordinated across the board soap viewer effort to turn the tide! That’s right, we’re going to leave egos and agendas at the door and we are going to work together in introducing a comprehensive marketing plan which advocates the soap viewer base and the people who work in the soap industry
We will discuss our multi pronged efforts including our campaign to get cable providers to respond to consumer demand for an alternative to SoapNet. The second thing we need to do is drive home the point to ABC/Disney that we would expect that in return for all our years of viewer loyalty, they at least give another production company a chance to take any of their soaps and run with them.
The next item on tonight’s agenda will be to discuss what soap viewers can do in their local markets. We need facts. We need figures. We need the help of motivated viewers who “get” what we are trying to accomplish here. We need to be focused, united and determined not to allow reality and talk programming to saturate an already oversaturated entertainment market. And, like it or not, that means making tough decisions like declining ABC/Disney programming ND MOVIES. With respectful response from the corporate networks comes consumer confidence in what they sell. That’s the bottom line. This is a consumer revolution where the consumers will stand up and create the demand the networks and Neilsen claim is not longer there.
