The signing of the Peace Treaty in Japan at the end of WWII took place on August 15, 1945 -- Feast of the Assumption of Mary. Six years later Japan signed a formal pact in San Francisco pertaining to its surrender. It was called the Second World War Peace Treaty. It was signed on September 8, 1951 -- the Feast of the Nativity of Mary. The signing in Washington of the intermediate range nuclear forces treaty (INF) by M. Gorbachev and Ronald Reagan, abolishing medium range missiles in Europe, took place on December 8, 1987 -- the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. The Berlin Wall fell on January 1, 1990 -- the Feast of Mary, the Mother of God. The Communist Party died in Russia on August 22, 1991, when M. Gorbachev survived the aborted coup by the Communists -- Feast of the Queenship of Mary.
