After the Columbine Massacre, the country became much more aware of the impact of bullying on students. That horrible event, along with family conversation, stirred something in Dr. Audrey Newsome. She pulled together her research and launched The Bully Suicide Project in 2009. The Dallas-based nonprofit organization works with students, schools and organizations to tacke the issues and has grown to national prominence.

What is bullying?

"Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time." [StopBullying.gov]

Dr. Newsome will join DJ the Football Mom and Mia in an in-depth conversation. They will discuss:

  • What bullying is and how it hurts
  • Signs and clues that your child is being bullied
  • Steps you can take to address the situation
  • Cyberbullying and the shift in technology and more.
