National Signing Day! Each year, high school seniors sign their name on a Letter of Intent to play for a selected college or university. NFL Mom Deanna Moore joined us to discuss what the decision means and how important it is support your young athlete.

Deanna and I discussed the situation with young Alex Collins, a top recruit from Florida.  Alex chose to sign with the Arkansas Razorbacks instead of the closer-to-home University of Miami. His mother preferred Miami, so she left with the letter and would not give her consent. He was determined so his father signed a duplicate letter.

Deanna Moore has four sons and understands the nervous concerns of sports parents and has wise words for Alex's mother. She has firsthand experience with the impact traveling and managing challenges when your child moves away. Her son Kyle decided to attend the University of Southern California (USC) which was all the way acrosss the country from their home in  Warner Robins, GA.

Deanna also shared Kyle's comming of age during his four years at USC. The colelge decision was son Kyle's to make and the maturity with which he approached the college decision was admirable.

Deanna is the Founder and President of the "I Think I Am" Foundation which assists foster families and other families in need.
