Young girl athletes have big dreams, too! Holley Mangold dreamed of being an Olympian and achieved her goal - four years earlier than she planned. The Olympic weightlifter thought she'd have a shot at the 2016 games, but instead she'll represent the United States this year at the 2012 Olympic games in London.

Holley loved athletics and competition. She even played football for her high school team. With encouragement from her family, she thrived and recently committed herself to a sport that suited her body frame and skill level. The younger sister of the New York Jets Center Nick Mangold, Holley has found her own newfound success exciting.

Mangold, who stands 5 feet 8 and weighed in at 354 pounds yesterday thought she'd be a diver or gymnast.

“I’ve always wanted to be an Olympic athlete but I always thought I was going to do it in diving,” said Mangold, a native of Centerville and former high-school football player. “My body just didn’t work out for that one. I had to go with a different sport, I guess.”

We'll talk to Holley about what motivated and inspired her and how her parents helped her reach her Olympic goals. Parents whose daughters are considering nontradtional sports - THIS is the show for you!
