The Black Church Experience has been charismatic and uplifting. It also has had its pitfalls through the misconceptions and spiritual ills of doctrinalism, denominational barriers, emotinalism, financial, and social-economic status. Although not the intent of our ancestral past and the way African-Americans conducted church during slavery, the emotional effect still has a crippling effect amongst congregations and church leadership.
