Photobucket April with the poetry name of "Aries" or "Deep Aries", was born and raised in Detroit and Suburban Michigan. April used creativity as an outlet growing up as a "unique" only child so she was always an "old soul". Now she has one brother who does hip hop and one sister that are in their teens. She was always passionate about originality in new and old school music and old school shows, movies, and writers. April started writing song lyrics, short stories and short plays. At about age 5, April met the legendary Nikki Giovanni at a local mall promoting a children's book. A few years ago, she met the legendary, E. Lynn Harris, and was fascinated by his autobiograhy, "What becomes of the brokenhearted". April has done Freelance writing for Davenport University's newspaper where she attended school and graduated with Marketing/Management (BBA). Freelance writing for Ferndale Friends, the magazine and the online column, the Examiner. Currently, pursuing Master's degree. She stepped out on faith! Life changed and she had to write about it. The book "Reflections of...A Diamond in the making" is her debut book released in February 2010. The book is a memoir of some of her experiences put into a small red "deep" poetry book. The book captures the imagination with her expressing her thoughts of situations that range from ending an unhappy relationship to finding the love she dreams of. Also the passion about poetry and music, as well as poems that talk about spirituality and a desire to succeed.April was invited on the Hodo Show on live Whpr TV 33, 88.1 FM in Highland Park, MI twice and had a great audience on January 17, 2010 on the show, also did radio interview on Motown Writer's Network with Sylvia Hubbard in May 2010.
