Becky Due, like the main characters of her novels, spent many years running from herself, looking for love, crying a little and laughing a lot along the journey of finding herself. Through writing, Due found her passion. She is the author of several books and is currently working on her next novel. Happily married she and Scott live in Colorado and Florida with their two “kids” Buddy the Cat and Shorty the Pug.

  Midlife Crisis? Crisis at Midlife? Crazy?

  When Amy Harden responds to a post at her forum the question isn't about SEO, or how Twitter really works or even about the latest national drama. The members of this forum (http://womeninmlc.lefora.com) are often men-- who are watching their wives walk out the door, their serenity dissolve, their children panic and their financial future threatened by this perfect storm they call MLC; Midlife Crisis.
  
  A recent question posted at the forum was from a woman who described a complete lack of understanding about her own thoughts and actions over the last several years in one profound sentence: "I don't recognize me anymore."
  
  Amy, always the Shepherdess, with compassion and wisdom, responded to the new member:
  
  "I would highly encourage you to read The Walk Out Woman or The Worn Out Woman.
  Also read as much as you can here at the forum, especially in the Women's forum...continue to write and tell us your feelings.  You have had a tough time...you are exhausted mentally, physically and spiritually. Crisis at Mid-life is when you are having difficulty with coping with the mind , body and spirit...they all seem to clash at once...and it sure does sound like you may be building an MLC fire. You have come to the right place...Be gentle with yourself...knowing that this is truly a time of discovery....it doesn't have to be a time of destruction." -Shepherdess
  
  On Tuesday, October 27th at 7PM, Lu and I will be talking with Amy about what trends she's observed at this forum she created for the people she both compassionately encourages and firmly rebukes when necessary.   We'll also talk about the Yellow Brick Road metaphor and her upcoming debut as an Expert Mentor Host at the SSTI mentoring network that launches January 11th, 2010.  Be sure and tune in- whether you're younger than midlife (because your time's coming, honey!) or if you're older than midlife (because someone you know is going to need your help!) and especially if you're a married midlifer.   Sandy Griffin Real Life Situations. Real Life Solutions.

  Every person who meets Sandy immediately feels that they are her ‘soul mate’. Men and women alike want her for their best friend. Her easy laugh and her warmth make one feel that life is going to be okay, no matter the circumstances. Born and raised in Minnesota Sandy pulls from her life history and growing up in a family with 11 siblings.
