Wells Fargo Business Online Banking

Sharifah Hardie interviews Richard Weeks, Senior Vice President, Internet Services, Group Wells Fargo & Company. Richard Weeks is a 19-year veteran of the company, Richard is responsible for Wells Fargo Business Online® banking.

Previously, Richard oversaw Wells Fargo’s Business Internet Services and guided the growth of the business customer base to more than one million active online small business customers as of January 2009. Under his leadership, Wells Fargo’s website was ranked #1 by Change Sciences Group for best online customer experience for small business customers (January 2007) and its Wells Fargo Business Online® Banking was honored with Greenwich Associates’ Excellence in Business Banking Award (September 2007). In addition, Wells Fargo was named top small business Internet site in Barlow Research’s 2006 and 2007 Business Internet Banking Test Drive.

Richard began his financial services career in 1984 as a customer service representative and teller at Wells Fargo. Then after graduating from college, Richard spent four years in beverage sales and management with the E & J Gallo winery. He rejoined Wells Fargo in 1994 as a personal banking manager in San Francisco and later served as quality manager for the phone bank in 1996. He became a team member of Wells Fargo’s Internet Services group (ISG) in 1999 after completing a year-long rotational program for MBA graduates.

He holds an MBA from University of San Francisco, where he graduated with honors, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from University of Southern California. Richard had been an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco, where he has taught a range of marketing courses. Richard and his wife are parents of four children.
