He has been the Professional Fire Fighters of Utah president since 1985. Twelve years ago, he joined the executive board of the Utah AFL-CIO and was elected president in 2007. He has worked on many labor issues and is a familiar face navigating the halls at the Utah legislature lobbying on behalf of the working men and women of Utah.

Mr. Root is a Lifetime member of the Libertarian Party, and proudly dedicated to the cause of liberty.
