There is nothing so dangerous to the powers that be than a source of hope that they can be overcome.

NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden sparked a very important conversation that goes beyond the superficial coverage of much of the corporate media. For the first time, most Americans were confronted with the reality of what the Patriot Act, NDAA and other "anti-terrorist" legislation added up to when coupled with the ability to spy on every American citizen in their every communication.

It was easy for some to dismiss the idea of "Total Information Awareness" by their government as something they needn't worry about if they were doing nothing wrong, but knowing that anything did in private could be used against them made many finally look at the consequences of surrending our Fourth Amendment and other constitutional rights.

On August 10, SFPI Radio welcomes back our resident intelligence expert Karl Eysenbach to explain to us how the surveillance society developed, what it means to us and what we can do to fight it.

Know the truth and the truth will set us free.
