People are desperate to find a way to build a movement with the strength to challenge the grip of the corporatocracy on the US government. They realize that democracy in American is the only path to resolving issues that Congress will not address ranging from global warming to universal health care in the US, bank regulation and the financially, socially and morally insane policy of endless war in the name of "freedom."

There are lessons to be learned from past movements in the US that can be applied to the problems that are stymieing efforts today. On November looked at the struggling efforts to build a movement that will address the central problem of the corruption of elections by special interest money, comparing it with other efforts to build unified movements.

As usual, not only talked about the problems but the hopeful signs that we can learn to work together on our common cause, and how we might do that. In the end, ours is one struggle. When we learn to support all efforts and individuals working for social justice, the dream of Soldiers For Peace International will have become a reality.
