Communities across America are struggling with the economic burdens resulting from policies supported on both sides of the aisle by politicians beholden to a small economic elite. They are the CEOs of the corporations that ship jobs overseas that tanked the global economy by squeezing every penny of profit from the housing bubble before it burst, leaving taxpayers on the hook for trillions so banksters could keep their loot.

The only way to fight systemic corruption in American government is organizing locally to demand candidates who believe in real American values of equality of opportunity for people, not a system that only rewards those with the money and influence to determine the outcome of elections at the state and federal levels.

The solutions to the problems facing each of us in our local communities depends on recognizing how our actions affect all of us. As long as we focus only on the local level we will continue to lose the battle against powerful corporate interests who manipulate the US government for their own purposes. To win the battle for the soul of America we must come together at the local level to demand that our interests be put before those of corporate Puppetmasters of our government.

On September 26 our guest was Jessica Campbell of the Rural Organizing Project, who talked about how they are working to do just this in Oregon.

This show will be rebroadcast on Saturday, October 6 at 10 AM CST on the Star Com Radio network.

Take Back America for the People is an educational nonprofit whose mission is to reveal to the American public the true costs of corporate control of the US government.
