MODERN RECRUITING FOR TODAY'S WARS

As the "War on Terror" expands, the US military has strained to find volunteers to fight for a cause that is increasingly questioned by the American public.

Polls show a significant majority of Americans want out of Afghanistan. Most Americans have realized that invading Iraq was worse than doing nothing, as sectarian violence continues and millions of Iraquis remain displaced. Now there are calls for war with Iran.

How does the military succeed at recruiting young people in this atmosphere? On August 31 on Take Back America, Rick Yahnkow of Project YANO explained modern military recruitment and why we should all be concerned.

Unknown to most parents and the general public,  our children are being systematically indoctrinated to accept ideas that would make the Founders shudder. Widespread privacy violations are justified in the name of a highly questionable "national security" policy that puts our children on the frontline of a global war that serves only the corporate interest.

Madison warned us that a standing Army would lead to the loss of our liberties. Now the war machine has grown to the point that it threatens citizens of the United States as much as it does those of nations targeted by a "war"on terror that serves as a convenient excuse to sacrifice our young to the cause of corporate Empire.
