On June 19, our guest on Take Back America for the People was antiwar hero Brian Willson, author of Blood on the Tracks, the autobiography of his transformation from rabid anticommunist to dedicated antiwar activist.

Best known for losing his legs in a assault authorized by the US military in response to his blocking the tracks at a Naval Ordinance station protesting the transfer of weapons to fight illegal wars against democratic governments in Honduras, his is a story that is much richer.

Brian was born on the Fourth of July to a father who was a racist member of the John Birch Society and a "Christian" fundamentalist. His early career plans included FBI agent, pastor and professional athlete. His transformation to an antiwar activist was sparked by his experience of the harsh realities of war for corporate Empire.

These awakened him to the realization that we are all one People, connected spiritually and physically to one another by unbreakable bonds. His understanding of our interdependence and the interreelated problems mnacing human "civilization" underlie the principles that guide his work and his personal life.

This show will be rebroadcast on Saturday, June 30 at 10 AM CST on the Star Com Radio network.

For a longer and more in depth live discussion, be sure and listen on July 7, when Brian will be my guest of SFPI Radio, the voice of Soldiers For Peace International on the worldwide web.

Take Back America for the People is an educational nonprofit whose mission is to reveal to the American public the true costs of corporate control of the US government.
