Tonight a dream by one coach came a reality. Tonight for the first time in many years, St. Francis played a game in Primetime. St. Francis may have played one of there biggest home games in years, and im serious.
     It was a change in philosphy that aultimatly lead to landing St. Francis their first night game in years. New soccer director and varsity coach Mike Smolinski, who was the former JV coach had wanted to have his team play on center stage, and he did it. Former Varsity coach Craig Fattey was not interested enough in this. Smolinski however was.
    I honestly didnt know what to expect tonight when i arrived for the game. Would there be a ton of people, or wlould it be like a normal soccer game, dead. As the clock ticked to 7:00, loads and loads of people came to watch the game. The students of the school were there, administration, parents, and the JV and Freshmen soccer teams. It was great to see about 90% of the stands filled for only a soccer game. It was also great to see the younger soccer players there, as before they know it there going to be out there themselves. 
    With seconds left the student body were leaving, and i was wondering why. I shouldve known beter, they ran right out onto the fields as the clock tkicked to zeroes on the scoreboard. You wouldve thought that St. Francis won the Championship, however it was only a division win, a big one nonetheless.
    Now St. Francis is trying to win there division this year, and after loosing to St. Joes whom the Varsity team is now 0-9 in the last five years not counting playoffs, had to win this game. Trust me you dont fall down 0-2 in division play and expect to win this. 
    Overall this night was deffinatly a success. St. Francis won there first division game, and at least for one night the student body was soccer crazey.
