1:00 pm EST - Paul Lee will tell us his story - his modification disaster.
Paul’s house was foreclosed on during a loan modification. His family pleaded for months with their lender for a cheaper mortgage on their family home in Belleville, Michigan. But time ran out, and they left before they were evicted.
2:00 pm EST - Anita Reyes has been evicted twice from her home:
- My name is Anita Reyes-LeRey and this is the story of my Trail of Tears. It may not be the same distance, but it’s the same heartache. On Tuesday, June 19th, the sheriff posted a 24-hour eviction notice on the front door I have come home to for the last 17 years. I am not leaving. I have nowhere to go. I am standing up for myself, my family and community. -

It’s my opinion and advice, not counsel. I’m just one of many homeowners in my quest for the exit from this mortgage mess we found ourselves in. Everything I say is based on my own experience or on the experience of people who shared their stories with me. I am not responsible as an “expert” and for what you do with my advice and knowledge. I cannot tell you which direction to take, but I can share my story with you to show that we are not alone in these struggles.
